It’s an incredibly exciting time here at Dot Eco as we near ICANN’s application deadline for the environmental community’s domain. Our application is the culmination of three years of dedicated work from our team and Community Council members.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been proud to welcome the support of some of the top members of the environmental community. Organizations including TckTckTck and Global Footprint Network have signed on as Partners, committing their support for a community-run .ECO. Dot Eco: A Place to Begin

Last week we were honored to have our video featured first in ICANN’s New gTLD Applicant Video Series. We were thrilled to see the fantastic response that our video received after ICANN posted it on their Facebook wall. This feedback was further validation that our community, the Environmental Community, believes that we need to preserve .ECO for the future and for the greater good.

Call to action: Support a community run .ECO domain by April 12

The face of global environmental online communications is about to change. For more than two years, an international council of leading environmental organizations has been convening and coordinating community input for the .ECO top-level domain – which is on the verge of coming to fruition. In the final months before the future of .ECO is decided, the .ECO Council is inviting environmental organizations around the globe to help establish, strengthen and protect the .ECO domain.

.ECO is prime example as TLD Round Opens

With ICANN set to start accepting applications for new top level domains this week, our .ECO effort has become one of the top examples of a New TLD in the press. It’s great to see people talking about .ECO as a natural domain extension for the environmental community in the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times and on Bloomberg.

Ocean Conservancy Partners with Dot Eco
